Checklist of tasks to complete after MECM is updated

Depending on the contents of the update, not all items may be applicable:

  • Console update - required
    • The console will prompt you to update when opening it. If not, the latest console can be found at \\ad.uillinois.edu\sccm\SharedContent\ImportShare\Applications\Microsoft\MECM\MECM Console - select the folder with the highest version number.  For new installations, connect the console to sccmcas.ad.uillinois.edu.

  • Client update - required
  • Boot image update - required
  • Update bootable media - if your unit uses bootable media, this is required after the boot image has been updated
  • The 'Configuration Manager Support Center' tool is sometimes updated
    • The 'Configuration Manager Support Center - Latest' application is available at '\Software Library\Overview\Application Management\Applications\MANAGED APPLICATIONS\Microsoft\MECM\Support Center' in the console.  For a manual installation, view the Content tab of the application's deployment type.
