Windows 11 Rollout and Upgrade for Gies College of Business
Windows 11 is the latest release of Microsoft's operating system, Microsoft Windows. Windows 10 will reach end of support as of October 2025, with Windows 11 becoming the only officially supported version of Windows. This upgrade to Windows 11 will make sure the college complies with future campus policies/expectations and security standards.
The IT Partners @ Gies Help Desk will be communicating, scheduling, and coordinating this upgrade for departments and units in Gies leading up to this date.

Upgrades for Staff (Life Cycle) computers
Departments and units will be contacted by the IT Partners @ Gies Help Desk to schedule upgrades of staff devices. To minimize disruption for staff these upgrades will be pushed out and automated by the Help Desk on scheduled dates. Please watch for communication from your department or unit to learn about what you'll need to do and when your scheduled upgrade will occur!
Upgrades for Faculty departmental computers
Faculty will be provided a survey, created by the IT Partners @ Gies Help Desk, to provide information on Windows-based devices they use. To minimize disruption and assist with faculty upgrades, please respond promptly to the survey with the requested information. The IT Partners @ Gies Help Desk will contact you to schedule your upgrade. Please watch for communication about this survey from your department!
For Student personal computers
IT Partners @ Gies does not provide technology support or computers to students. Please refer to Microsoft's official Windows 11 site for more information to learn more about upgrading your laptop, tablet, or desktop to Windows 11.
