macOS, Printers, Installing Print Drivers

This article will show how to install print drivers that have been downloaded from the Internet onto your Mac.

Before reading this article, follow our guide here to locate and download the necessary print drivers.

Once you have downloaded the drivers open the Downloads folder in Finder

In the Downloads folder, if the driver is a ZIP archive double-click to extract it

Click on the downloaded file to unzip the contents to Downloads.

Open the "Driver" folder and locate the most recent version of macOS.

Look for a .pkg file that matches the driver name you downloaded.

Double-click on this .pkg file to begin the driver installation.

Note: If multiple paper size options are provided open the "Letter" folder and not "A4"

Open the latest version of macOS and open pkg file in the Letter folder.

Once the Installer opens, a "Welcome" screen will appear

Select "Continue" to proceed

When the Installer asks you to Agree to the License Agreement choose "Agree"

During the "Installation Type" step select "Install" when prompted

When prompted enter the credentials used to login to macOS

Select "Install Software" to begin the installation

Enter your Mac credentials and click Install Software.

When the Print Driver Installation is complete, select "Close"
