Vetstar - Cremation and Care of Remain Procedure Code Changes

As of Tuesday Morning 12/22/20, SAC private cremation change will occur. Small animal group cremations will now be provided by Endearing Pets and will require entry of the GM Care of Remains Charge GM009 ($75) on the Vetstar account. All Patients who die or are euthanized (including Large Animal patients) at the VTH will be assessed a GM After Death Care Fee of $25, this charge will automatically roll in with related charges (charge codes that mark the patient deceased in Vetstar).
  1. All Private cremation codes have been inactivated.  
  2. GM002 Care Remains has been inactivated.
  3. GM009 GM Group Cremation Services for $75 takes the place of GM002.
  4. GM010 is GM After Death Care for $25 and should be applied to any patient who has died.   
    • Please note GM010 will automatically roll in to the patients account if the following has been added to their account:
      • GS500 Died at U of I
      • GS200 patient died/euthanized not at U of I
      • 50741 EMS EUTHANASIA SOLUTION  PENTOBARBITAL 390MG/ML (ML)
      • 50654 EUTHANASIA SOLUTION PENTOBARBITAL 390MG/ML (ML)
      • 05065 EUTHANASIA SOLUTION PENTOBARBITAL 390MG/ML (ML)
