Teams, Telephone, The dial pad is missing in the Calls app
If the dial pad is not present under the Microsoft Teams Calls tab it could be due to one of the following reasons.
Voice service is not configured for the account
In order for the dial pad to display under the Teams Calls tab that user must have appropriate licensing and have been assigned enterprise voice service on campus. There are many reasons a user might not have service, whether their licensing doesn't include phone, or an order was not entered to add service.
This typically requires investigation by the service team. Please submit a ticket to the Technology Services Help Desk by emailing consult@illinois.edu or calling 217-244-7000.
Voice service is configured, but the Teams client needs restarted
This is common for users who may have recently been issued Teams phone service, or had service restored from a breakage, but have not restarted Teams since the service was added.
To restart the Teams client, right click on the taskbar icon and select Quit Teams. Wait a minute before restarting the client, then recheck the Calls tab.
Voice service is configured, but an administrative process has unintentionally broken the service
This can happen if a user on campus moves from one department to another and their position change also changes the licensing associated with their account.
Example: A user moves from a position that was granted an A5 for Faculty license to a position that only grants an A1 for Faculty license. The A1 does not include phone services and the loss of the phone system license has caused the account to become enterprise voice disabled.
If you have had a status change or moved departments and are now not able to see the Teams dial pad, please submit a ticket to the Technology Services Help Desk by emailing consult@illinois.edu or calling 217-244-7000.
