Multifactor Authentication (MFA), Secure Sign-in Portal (SSP)

The University is transitioning multifactor authentication (MFA) from Duo to Microsoft. As part of this transition, you will be guided through the Secure Sign-In Portal to register a Microsoft MFA method. This article walks you through what to expect during the Microsoft MFA migration campaign and what to do at each step.

Frequently asked Questions (FAQ)

Why am I seeing "Review Your Registered Sign-in Devices" page?

If you use Windows Hello for Business on a University-managed device, you may see this page displaying devices and sign-in methods already registered to your Microsoft account. Review the listed devices. If they are familiar and still available, select I confirm these devices are available and working — Continue.

Note: This page may not appear for everyone. If you see an unfamiliar or unavailable device, follow the on-screen instructions or contact your IT Service Desk for assistance.

Review Devices

What can I do if I do not have any compatible devices?

You do not need a smartphone to complete Microsoft MFA setup. A supported hardware security key can be used instead. If you are waiting for a security key, select Snooze this campaign while I get a security key to postpone the migration. Select Back to setting up my MFA methods to return to the setup page.

For more information, see: MFA, Hardware Tokens and Security Keys, or contact your university's IT Service Desk for assistance.
