NetID Claim, How to Claim for Students
For students, the NetID claim process begins with your UIN and an activation code given to you by University Admissions or the Graduate College.
- Undergraduate students: Once you've accepted your admission in MyIllini, your activation code can be found in the admitted student checklist.
- Graduate students: Your UIN and activation code and be found on your Graduate College application status page. If you are unsure of where to find the activation token, please see NetID Claim, Activation Code for Graduate Students.
If you are not a student, you have a different method of claiming your NetID:
- Employees (including Extra Help): Employees claim their NetID via the New Hire website. Please see this article for more information: NetID Claim, Employees, UI New Hire.
- University Affiliates: Affiliates claim their NetID via a different website. Please see this article for more information: NetID Claim, How to claim a NetID as an Affiliate.
Please note: the below screenshots were collected from the undergraduate claim process; formatting and available options may differ slightly depending on your account's type.
