Q: How do I log in to AWS?
A: You can access AWS at https://aws.illinois.edu.
Q: Why should I use an AWS account from the University instead of making my own personal account?
A: AWS accounts are part of the Enterprise Agreement that the University has with AWS. All accounts get an 11% discount, free data ingress and egress, Enterprise-level support, along with a dedicated team at AWS and the Tech Services Cloud Enablement team to help answer your questions.
Q: How do I get started with AWS?

Q: Can I get help with credits so I can use AWS?
A: Yes. AWS supports researchers with credits for proof-of-concept and other projects. See Getting Started with AWS.
Q: Can I use AWS in the classroom?
A: AWS offers materials for the classroom in AWS Academy. Also, AWS Educate is available for self-guided learning. See AWS Educate and AWS Academy.
Q: Do you offer accounts with more security compliance settings for Classified Uncontrolled Information (CUI) or Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) data?
A: Yes. Accounts can be created in AWS GovCloud which offers more compliance configurations. You can also work with the Cybersecurity team to define compliance profiles to meet the needs of your project.
