Kaltura, Zoom Cloud Recordings

All Zoom meetings hosted by University accounts and recorded to cloud storage are automatically stored in Kaltura (mediaspace). The recording will appear in the meeting host's "My Media" folder a few hours after the meeting ends.

To locate one of your recordings, navigate to Illinois Media Space at https://mediaspace.illinois.edu/ and click the Illinois Login button in the upper-right corner, then choose "My Media" from the menu that appears.

If you designate an alternate host when you schedule the meeting or make someone a co-host during the meeting, they will be added to the Kaltura entry as co-editor and co-publisher.  (Note: In our testing, this works on Zoom meetings you schedule, but *not* on your personal meeting room.)

Please note that users who sign in to Zoom using an email address with a domain other than the main @illinois.edu, such as @cs.illinois.edu or @uillinois.edu, may not have their recordings correctly added to their account in Media Space. If this is the case, or if you're having any other trouble locating a Zoom recording, send an email to consult@illinois.edu with the following details:

  • your University email address, or the email address of the Zoom account that hosted the meeting
  • the meeting's title and Meeting ID number, if available
  • the date and time the meeting took place

The Zoom team at Technology Services provides some more information about Zoom's integration with Kaltura (Media Space) in their article here: Zoom, Recording to cloud or Illinois Media Space
