cPanel, What IP addresses will be assigned to cPanel-hosted websites?

Regular cPanel, web.illinois.edu, is a single IP system: 18.220.149.166. cPanel for Mission Critical Sites, cpp.web.illinois.edu, is also a single IP system at a different IP: 18.118.191.251

If you need to identify which IP address your website will use, Tech Services offers two cPanel options. 

If you are not using a Tech Services cPanel hosted site, such as publish.illinois.edu, a self-managed virtual machine, or an off-campus third party provider, your IP address will be different than these.

Most Tech Services cPanel sites:

  • cPanel self service: web.illinois.edu
    Server IP address: 18.220.149.166

Mission critical sites using WordPress and the Illinois Theme that have been intentionally migrated to a separate cPanel server:

  • cPanel for Mission Critical Sites: cpp.web.illinois.edu
    Server IP address: 18.118.191.251
