Canvas@Illinois , Default Notification Settings
This document summarizes the default notifications for Canvas users.
Account-level notifications apply to all courses. Notifications for individual courses can be changed within each course and will override these notifications.
Daily notifications will be delivered around 6pm. Weekly notifications will be delivered Saturday between 2am and 4am.
Notifications are sent to the user's email by default (which can be changed)...here are other default settings for new users:
