Illinois Compass, Restored course limitations
This is an article describing limitations regarding course content and activity on virtual snapshot restored courses.
Redirecting....
When requesting a course restore, please bear in mind there are limitations on what can be restored. This article will be appended with any new information or limitations as needed. Bear in mind that a course restore is only possible if a snapshot is available. Any activity in the course between the time of the snapshot backup and the issue within the course (such as a content deletion) should be considered unrecoverable.
Discussion Posts/Threads: There is no way to import discussion board posts from the restored course to the original course. An import from a restored course archive will only import the forum names, and the starter post (if wanted), providing the students with a shell to re-submit posts or continue discussions. When grading, instructors will need to reference the restored course for the activity that was previously submitted, and manually enter the grades on the live, production course.
