Overview

If you previously developed content with the Legacy DesignPLUS Sidebar, you will need to upgrade that content to be compatible with the New DesignPLUS Sidebar.

Before proceeding, please be aware that you need to update each page of content (and cannot upgrade an entire course site at the same time). Although this can take some time, this is intentional so you can be sure your content is updated correctly. Luckily, each page can be updated with the click of a button!

Access the Upgrade Tool

You can access the Upgrade tool in one of two ways:

1. Access the Accessibility/Usability tab and select the Upgrade button
   
2. Open the notification at the bottom of the New DesignPLUS Sidebar (will appear only if Legacy content is recognized)
   

Upgrading Content

In general, we recommend upgrading all content on your page at once to make sure you don't have a combination of Legacy and New content on the same page (which could cause problems when editing content in the long term).

1. With the Upgrade tool open, select the Upgrade All # Items (Recommended) button:
   
2. The sidebar will automatically update all content on the page.
3. After all content has been updated, you should see a message indicating that there are "no upgrades detected":
