Theoretical and Computational Biophysics Group

VMD is a molecular visualization program for displaying, animating, and analyzing large biomolecular systems using 3-D graphics and built-in scripting.

Chemoffice Homepage

ChemOffice is a suite of tools that enable scientists and researchers to effectively capture and share data on compounds, materials, and chemical reactions.  ChemOffice contains a number of applications, such as ChemDraw, Chem3D, ChemFinder, and more.  For more information on the applications that comprise ChemOffice, see the link above. 

  • Graduate Students
    1. If your home academic department is the Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering (ChBE) or the Department of Chemistry OR
    2. If your appointment is with the Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering (ChBE) or the Department of Chemistry
    3. If you work in a ChBE or Chemistry lab but neither 1 or 2 (above) apply to you, ask your PI or group admin staff to contact SCS IT staff (scs-computing@illinois.edu), and we may be able to help. 

    4. For all other (non-SCS) graduate students, faculty or staff, a license may be purchased using a University account number from:

  • Undergraduates:
    • You may purchase a personal use license of ChemOffice from the UI Webstore using a credit card from: https://webstore.illinois.edu/shop/product.aspx?zpid=4469
      • NOTE: Undergraduates are NOT eligible for the SCS ChemOffice offer on the WebStore. 
    • You can use ChemOffice on a University-owned computer where it has already been installed, such as a departmental computer lab or a lab computer in a research group.
