HOWTO - Connect to Samsung TV for wireless presentations

Displaying a computer or phone on a Samsung TV

Mac

Mirroring / casting your screen:

IMPORTANT:  The Samsung TVs use AirPlay 2 - only devices running Catalina (MacOS 10.15) or later can wirelessly display content.   Devices running earlier versions of MacOS will need to use an HDMI connection to display content on the screen.

  • Connect your Mac to the Wi-Fi network called "IllinoisNet".
  • Click on the AirPlay icon in the menu bar at the top of the screen (see the arrow, below)

  • Select the device that you want to use for remote content display from the list
  • The computer will prompt you for a code which will be displayed on the TV - a different code will be provided each time you connect
