The Adobe Creative Cloud Desktop app displays a "You don't have access to manage apps" message

Instructions for fixing the error

To fix this on Windows: 

  • First sign out of the Creative Cloud Desktop app, then close the application

  • Navigate to:  C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\OOBE\Configs

  • Find the file called "ServiceConfig.xml" - right-click on it, and select Rename and change the name to "ServiceConfig.xml.orig

  • Download this replacement ServiceConfig.xml file (right click on the link, and select "Save Link As"), and copy it into the "Configs" directory (same directory as the original file)
     
  • Reboot your computer

  • After rebooting, re-launch the Adobe Creative Cloud desktop app, and you should no longer get the "You don't have access to manage apps" error. 

To fix this on Mac: 

  • First sign out of the Creative Cloud Desktop app, then close the application

  • Navigate to:  Macintosh HD/Library/Application Support/Adobe/OOBE/Configs 

  • Rename the file called "ServiceConfig.xml" to "ServiceConfig.xml.orig"

  • Download this replacement ServiceConfig.xml file, and copy it into the "Configs" directory (same directory as the original file)
     
  • Reboot your computer

  • After rebooting, re-launch the Adobe Creative Cloud desktop app, and you should no longer get the "You don't have access to manage apps" error.
