cPanel, Using the AWS command line

web.illinois.edu is hosted on Amazon Web Services. Advanced users may find it helpful to have access to the AWS commnd line interface.

One common use of the AWS command line interface is to transfer backups or other content to or from S3 buckets or other amazon services.

You no longer need to install the AWS cli in your cPanel account to access it. It is available for all users at /usr/local/bin/aws. If you run the aws cli from within cron, include the full path to the command.
